Spirit House has changed my life – I have found my touch stone – as soon as you drive in you are immediately met with a sense of peace and stillness. The well maintained grounds are a mecca of delight, from a fire pit, to a sweat lodge, a beautiful veranda or a quiet meditation spot, the fauna and sounds surround you. I am truly blessed to have found amazing and like-minded people through yoga, meditation and the ever changing workshops that occur at Spirit House. But to me Spirit House is so much more than this. It is sacred and energetically powerful but at the same time subtle oasis of bliss. A place where both local and international medicine workers and people involved in the esoteric arts come together to work and play! A sanctuary and community for like people to gather, express themselves and allow their expression to flow freely. The core of people that run and support Spirit House are the ones who showed me love at a time in my life when I did not even know how to love and value myself. The energy of the space in which I teach my yoga classes is really important to me. Every time I walk into Spirit House, there is such a sense of calm about the space, it has beautiful light and the breeze that you can get flowing through the windows is wonderful. On cooler days and darker nights, I love lighting candles in the fireplace too!

If Bermuda is a touch of paradise in the middle of an ocean, then Spirit House is an oasis of healing for Bermuda’s people. It is difficult to find words to describe the enigma that I know as Spirit House without referencing the vision, generosity, integrity, and dedication of the Outerbridge family, who reside modestly back stage of this awesome place.
I am honored to count among those who broke ground ten years ago and bear witness to a dream that has manifested and evolved into the amazing hub of spiritual activity we see today. World renowned speakers, sweat lodges and full moon ceremonies, yoga, goddess workshops, or just a good old pot luck with the gentle and sincere are just a few examples of the myriad activities that have generated an energy and beauty that is simply breathtaking to behold, and all made to feel welcome. When we learned we were pregnant we were euphoric and also felt daunted by our life shifting. When we decided to take a baby-moon before our beloved daughter was born there was no question that we would go to Spirit House. Ruth Anne and Douglas hosted us like we were family. They provided beautiful and perfect accommodations for us. They set up our temporary home at Spirit House with a comfy bed and all the privacy we needed. We were invited to all Spirit House events and were welcomed by the community with open arms.
Our time in Bermuda and at Spirit House helped us to feel at ease and prepared us for our new addition. We welcomed our daughter Grace to the world a few months later and anticipate taking her to Spirit House in the future.
